John did an awesome job working with my 2 GSP. We had a very bad experience with a different trainer in the SW Missouri area. He had my 2 GSP, Female was 2 and male was 10months old had them both on birds, pointing, holding and retrieving in a couple months. I am going to get right to the point. John Prince is an honest man who has a God given gift of being an excellent dog trainer. John’s German Short hair Pointers are top notch.

Before buying my female pup from John I did a lot of research and narrowed it down to few breeders. I called John and visited with him about what I was looking for. I invited John to bring some of his dogs and come hunt with me on some of my farms. I was fortunate that he accepted while others used their “busy schedule” as an excuse not to accept. To me I want to see a breeder/trainer dogs work on the ground hunting wild birds. In this case it was quail and pheasant season. First thing I noticed when we started the hunt is how much John’s dog’s loved him and how well they handled. He put two of his young dogs on the ground and their performance was flawless. They did it all like you would expect. I was impressed!

So I bought Lucy from John in April of this year at 3+ months old simply based on his recommendation that he thinks she would be what I was looking for. I did very little training of my own on her other than the fetching and getting her used to gun sound. I took her back to John in in September for couple days of training as I thought she was not going to need much based on watching her in the yard and around the farm. In a day and half of John training her, Lucy was ready to go hunt wild birds. While I was at John’s kennels I got to see how clean his kennels are and got to see many more of his dogs. They all have one thing in common, THE RIGHT BLOOD LINES!!!

I was fortunate that John invited me to join him on a trip to Montana to hunt sharp tail grouse and huns just couple of weeks ago. That was Lucy’s first experience on grouse in the wide open. Now we are talking a pup still at 9 months old! Lucy did fantastic! Well beyond my expectations. She did a 300+ yard retrieve on a sharp tail grouse that was just amazing! Lucy is going to be the best gun dog I’ve ever owned. I also got to watch four more of John’s dogs hunt and same thing, they are gun dogs anyone would be proud to own!

I bought a GSP pup from John in june 2018. This pup has been hands down the best bird dog I have owned and I have had my fair share of dogs. My pup Cash just turned nine months old. I’ve been killing wild birds over him regularly this season. When people speak of natural ability John’s dogs have it. My experience has been excellent. Cash has not really had any formal training yet. Here’s the natural ability part that I mentioned earlier. He holds birds on his own and is retrieving to hand regularly. Last weekend I took cash out on a hunt by himself not expecting to move to many birds. Fortunately there was a lot of birds where I was at that I was unaware of. Nine coveys later his performance absolutely amazed me. Guys this is a nine month old dog performing like a two year old dog. If you are looking for true natural ability and a excellent hunting dog I highly suggest John Prince. You won’t be disappointed. I have high expectations for this dog. I will be buying a female pup from john once he has another litter.

I figured I would wait a little bit to write this review until I had a thorough understanding of what this pup was going to be. I write this on 7/12/18 and the pup was born 3/22/18. Let’s call him 3.5 mos old right now.

Named Jagd (Pronounced “Jag”, German for “hunt”) after his uncanny resemblance to his sire, the following is a summary of what he has achieved at 3.5 mos old at the hands of an amateur trainer/owner with a full time 8-5 (or more) job just like everyone else:

He roads with the older dogs.

Does not whine, dig, or act out in the kennel.

Whoa’s on a dime.

Scent points, holds and stands walking birds.

Land and Water Retrieves

Recalls every time

Kennels both outside and in the dog box

No fears whatsoever of gun fire or anything else for that matter. I have yet to see his feelings hurt. As a 20# pup, he will run so hard in a milo field that his tongue will get raw.

Keep in mind this puppy is 112 days old. He has had a leash on him exactly 2 times. Once on a potty break on the 6 hr drive home on the side of the interstate and once at a vet visit. He wears an e-collar only to get used to the feel, and has yet to be stimulated from it. Being mid-summer, I have not had any birds flight worthy enough to safely get up and out enough to shoot; however, I am 100% confident that I could currently harvest a bird over this puppy’s staunch point at 3.5 mos old. In fact, I probably could have done so for several weeks now.

I am not going to sit here and try to claim this pup is the best there ever was or will be. That would be a bold and unsubstantiated claim. I have had lots of dogs, trained a few, and hunted with even more. To claim “the best” after owning him for a month would certainly be a stretch. All I am saying is look at the list above. These are facts, the truth, and a quite honestly what John expects from EVERY dog he sells. I can say that I have never been more confident with a sight unseen dog purchase than I was with Jagd. John knows dogs, and what he says a dog will be, is what you will get. Period. I gave John a wishlist of: “Natural point and retrieve, fast starting, has to be ready to hunt in November, intense, tough and female” John replied with “I’ll sell you whatever you want, but I’m telling you, you need a male Jag pup. They’re tough as nails and he’ll be ready to hunt this fall.” I didn’t guide the guide, so to speak, and got a male as suggested. I’m glad I did.

I’m sure a fair number of people reading this will question the truthfulness of the above achievements of a 3.5 mo old pup with no check cord, no e-collar, and no professional training. I’m OK with that. I have plenty of unedited video and pictures of this pup for anyone interested in challenging those claims. He is the real deal, as are 99.9% of John’s dogs. The nice thing is, if you get the .1% dud, John will be the first one to tell you that he will make it right. If you want a high powered bird finding machine, you cannot go wrong with Prince’s Quality Gun Dogs. I’ll be back when a kennel spot opens up.

I contacted John about my GSP. He hunted but needed work. John did exactly what he said he would do and made him a better dog. He is a good honest God fearing man. Had a concern about my dogs health so he took him to a vet for me while he was in his care. I would recomend John for training over anyone any day of the week.

I received a GSP from John for a graduation present from my grandfather this past August (best graduation present ever right?). I have a 18 month old GSP named Tucker who I have written about previously. Well, I finally have all of Johns hard work in my dog paying massive dividends in the field. I have been unable to hunt with tucker because I did not get him back until the season was over last year. This morning opened my eyes to what is in store for me. Mind you Tucker is not from John’s stock. But John trained Tucker, and I am beyond glad he did. First field of the day had pheasants flying around in it before we entered. I was able to watch Tucker work like he had been doing it forever. Tucker was able to locate and point birds in less than ideal conditions due to the lack of moisture. However, seeing the end result I am more than happy with what John did. Knowing John and what he as in his stock I am now an owner of one of his pups(HANK). Who we (John and I ) have started training. There is no way in the world that you ever go wrong with a guy like John. He is honest, experienced, and more than willing to help train the owner as well as the dog. If you have him train your dog or if you buy one of his you will not be dissappointed.

My wife and I were going into Bass Pro when we saw a gentleman with a shopping cart outside with some pointer puppies. After trying to talk my wife out of a puppy, we engaged the man and I used several excuses that were really feeble attempts to deny myself a pup. But after breaking away and going to the store to take care of business my wife went to the ATM and bought the pup that I had been playing with. Interestingly I had found a pigeon feather and teased the groggy guy who perked right up and followed me for another sniff.
The afternoon that I brought him home and showed him a pheasant wing, he locked up, quivering and showed my wife what bird dog instincts looked like. Over the next 4 months I probably walked 600 miles, which did my belly good. I found out that Gus was very high energy, but desired to please. He quickly learned that when I blew the whistle he would likely get a treat. Neighbors became accustomed to me and Gus and sometimes my wife and the 14 year old Airedale terrier headed to the edge of the high school practice fields and farmers bean field.
When the 2nd week of bird season rolled around and I was unable to find any serious quail opportunities, we went to a pay to hunt facility north of Topeka. Gus acted like he knew what he was there for, and I missed the first bird he pointed. The next bird went down and Gus promptly found it, There was a little dancing ritual and some encouragement to fetch, but the concept of quail hunting, and the natural ability of a well bred bird met that instant.
He was a tired pup when we got home, and my wife remarked that as Gus laid on the couch, that his eyes would follow me whenever I got up or moved. She said that was when he became MY DOG.
By the end of the season he hunted with another dog, worked pheasant on a cold sleeting day, and impressed a couple of guys I talked into going with me. On the last day of the season I hunted with 2 other gentlemen, and he pointed and retrieved 34 quail. He would only bring them to me.
The 2nd time he hunted was with an adult 4 year old Brittany. A type personality kicked in. He doesn’t want to share. But on a covey rise I was pretty sure I hit a quail that I spotted a couple hundred yards away. We finished looking where we had broke the covey and found a single or two, then proceeded to where I spotted a bird drop into a ridge of weeds and grass. Gus put his nose to work acting birdy for 70 or 80 yards then picked up a dead bird and brought it to me. My hunting partner said that was the most impressive effort he had ever seen and from a 5 and a half month old pup.
Gus has gone to John Prince’s place for a few weeks of professional training. He has been there for 2 weeks, and the reports are good.
I have visited with John several times, and he assured me early on that I wasn’t going to mess Gus up by taking him to the field so young.
I am not only excited about the finished product, but John has been a pleasure to watch at work. When it’s all said and done, I am very impressed that I am also working with a Christian man who’s values reflect in his work.

I obtained a GSP puppy from my father-in-law last year, and immediately began my research for a training facility. After picking up my dog from John yesterday I am glad I found him! The process with John is extensive, and you will be glad that it is. It starts with an email, and then that turns into phone calls in which he usually picks your brain to see what you want done with your dog. Then he goes through the process of telling you what he is going to do. What I found most impressive about him is that he assess’s your dog before he even takes him. John takes your dog and determines his ability and interest in birds. The entire time John is talking to you and watching the dog and describing what he sees. Which is incredible in itself to watch your dog and have all his mannerisms translated to you. Thankfully my dog had some natural instinct and ability and John took him. 7-8 weeks later(yesterday) I picked up my dog from John. That process consisted of John, me, and my friend who is looking at buying a dog from John, driving out with some birds to hunt with my dog Tucker. John does not praise Tucker and his ability before I see him. All John says is lets go take a look at what he can do. We all drive out on the Mule and plant a quail then quickly drive away. Next he walks to the dog box and I can barely recognize the behavior of my dog. He opens the dog box and Tucker barely sticks his head out. A sharp “Back” from John and Tucker stands there while John puts the E collar on him and continues to stand there even after the collar is on. Then a firm “OK” and Tucker bolts into the grass on a mission. Meanwhile John is walking and talking to us and giving firm commands and Tucker obeys. Tucker hits the first bird and goes on a solid point. John’s hand goes up and a firm “Whoa” comes out and Tucker doesn’t move. John slowly walks up to the bird and kicks him out and shoots the bird and Tucker retrieves it right back to him. Stunned is a good word for how I felt at this point. Back to the mule ” Meanwhile tucker is tearing around looking for another bird”. Load Tucker up and go plant another bird and go through the process again with the same result. Now when someone hands you back a dog like this you are a little nervous. I am so scared that I am going to screw him up and I tell John this. John shoots you straight “He is going to make mistakes, and you are going to make mistakes”. John offers his place to bring him back so that Tucker and I can get trained some more together. More of me learning how to work my dog correctly. Having the pleasure of now knowing John and what he can do for me, I feel like know matter what he is a phone call away for advice. Which I really appreciate! If you are looking for a dog trainer, I would not recommend him, but I insist you go to him. Quality is outstanding, and nothing but positive things to say about him and his service!

I picked up 2 dogs from John one 4 month old male 1 5 month old female for me the other for my cousin. the female I named Dixie far exceeded my expectations. she hunts harder and finds birds better than any dog I have ever owned we got to where we would just follow her you could watch her get birdy,then she would hold a point until we tell her ok to flush retrieve ,soft mouth, she does it all. My cousin says the same about his male. the only regret I have is letting my cousin take the male. I would love to have had Both. but Dixie is a Fantastic dog. I got my first GSP from John over 7 years ago. John made it clear she was the runt of the litter but was very healthy. She may be small in stature, but her heart and will are beyond description. So is her intellect. She hunts harder than dogs twice her size. Granted, I exercise my dogs nearly daily, but she is indeed special. Slams birds, retrieves, honors, and her disposition is fantastic. We loved her so much we went back and got her sister from the next litter. Jessie has the kindest heart of any dog I have ever owned, but will hunt hard all day long as well. Both girls have been a picture of health and vitality. I sincerely believe they have several more years in them. I have NO problem highly recommending John. Not only for the quality of dogs he’s sold me, but the fact I can still call him any time. If he misses me (rare) I always hear back from him within 24 hours. He even texted me while fishing in Canada!! Nut that I am, five weeks ago, we went and picked up another pup, Geddy. I’ll be writing about him very soon. I think he shows the potential to be the best dog I have ever owned! More to follow….

I bought a female from John last February. We took Penny out in the field with some birds. She locked up on a dime, held point, John flushed the birds, shot one down and she retrieved to hand. John had already discussed what her capabilities were over the phone and backed them up in person. She did every thing he said she would. Penny has a great personality, eager to please, calm and a hunting machine. We hunted Penny in the UP this October and she was excellent. She is 2 now and she hunts like a 6 year old veteran. Highly recommend John’s dogs and he is not to bad a guy either.

What can I say about my GSP Jet from John Prince’s kennel. I will try to limit the praise so folks wont have to read a novel. Here’s a quick rundown of some of my favorite highlights: 1. His pedigree is top notch. It doesn’t come any better. From his mother and father right there at Johns kennel all the way through champions like Dixieland Rusty and back into the old Stradivarius line of GSP’s, Jets bloodlines are as good as they come. 2. Jet pointed the first quail scent he ever smelled at about 11 weeks old. Tail high, perfect position, and never broke. I haven’t taught the dog one thing about pointing. He was born with it. 3. He learned WHOA and HERE in about 2 hrs, in one session, at less then 3 mo old. He is smart, teachable, but is still good and onery and has a go get it attitude. He doesn’t cowar at discipline, never even flinched at a gun shot, and he learns fast. He is everything you want in terms of training. 4.Jet had his first pheasant hunt at 5 mo old, and not only did he point and hold, he marked birds by sight-some of them wounded birds that fell hundreds of yds away. He’d sprint straight to them, and retrieve fairly without much training at all(and zero force training). He has a natural soft mouth, doesn’t chew birds at all. He was (and is) a natural at marking and finding birds- an uncanny ability to mark birds, even. When my father saw this happen and the puppy was only 5 mo- mind you, my father has been in the dog business some 65 yrs and has seen quite literally everything- he told me I had something special. 5. More on that first hunt: As a 5 mo old puppy, Jet outlasted every adult dog on our hunt. He was born with incredible stamina. Jet will go from daylight to dark, day after day. It’s remarkable to see, actually. He is strong, he’s athletic- lean and muscled and perfectly proportioned, exactly what you want- and he has great instincts and a great nose. You just can’t say enough about the dogs natural gifts. 6. Aside from hunting, Jet is my best buddy. He lives in my house, and has since he was a puppy. He sleeps every night in my room with me. He is obedient, he’s never chewed anything in my house, he rides in my truck(front and in the bed) without one bit of worry. I can go to the store with him in the truck bed, leave him there, and when I come out he’ll be right there, sitting, staring at the store front door waiting for me to come back out where he last saw me. He has THE most loving and happy personality I’ve ever witnessed in a dog. I’ve never even heard him growl. Everyone loves Jet, and Jet loves everyone. He’s a great companion. 7. Here’s another thing I want to highlight that has nothing to do with Jet’s hunting. John Prince has been, since day one and still to this day, a man of integrity, and a man of his word. You can take John’s word to the bank. When he says he will do something, you can count on it. That’s a rare thing, and certainly so from what I’ve learned from my father, and through my own experience in the dog business. But Jet was everything John said he would be, and even more impressive to me-John is truly invested in his dogs. He has kept in contact to check up on Jet, make sure the dog is doing well and that his customer is satisfied. He continues to do this today, over 4 yrs after Jet came to my house. It’s evidence this is more than just a business to John. This is his life, and his joy, and he knows the value of honesty, integrity, and service. I would recommend John Prince and his kennel to anyone and everyone who’s looking for not only the highest quality gundogs, but the best kind of experience with a breeder and trainer. I plan to bring another John Prince GSP into my house asap!! In addition to the list above, I wanted to relay the unique details of a hunting story about Jet that will hopefully shed even more light on this dogs natural gifts. When he was 3 yrs old I decided to take Jet to my duck blind. Quail and pheasant populations were terrible that yr- they’d been on a steady decline, and that yr we didn’t even have enough wild birds to make a hunt-so I was duck hunting quite a bit, and it broke my heart to have to see Jet sad when I’d leave before dark without him. He knows when its time to hunt-he’ll go into my gear room and watch me pack, bouncing around the room barking and excited beyond himself the whole time. Closing the front door with him long faced behind me, still in the house, and then seeing him up on the front window-paws up on the window pane, barking as I drove away-was just too much. Of course I had no idea how’d he’d react or what he’d do in the blind. He’d never even seen waterfowl, smelled a duck, been around nor in a blind, etc. Jet watched as I waded out and set decoys and came back to shore and got him and everything settled in the blind. We waited for first light together. He was a little confused obviously, having to set still instead of hunt to find birds, but again, the dog knows when it’s time to hunt, and you could just tell he knew this was going to be fun. He was attentive, hanging on my every word and movement, and his whole body shook with the adrenaline and excitement. Then before the first light, birds started coming in. We all know that magical sound in the predawn darkness-whistling wings cutting through the cold air, the splash of the landing out over the water, the muted “bleeps” of the group talking amongst themselves. You could just see Jet catching on. He’d look up into the darkness at the sounds, then through the front of the blind when he’d hear the ducks on the water, trying to locate them in the shadow’s over the pond. By first light, he was literally looking up, scanning the sky. He’d pick up a group circling high above and follow them without looking away. The first group I got to decoy came in low across the pond, and when I stood, 2 mallards broke to my right, quartering up hard. I dropped them both in as many shots, and they folded and began to tumble. When they hit, I instinctively yelled “FETCH!” not thinking about what Jet would do. He bolted-and let me tell you, when this dog takes off, get out of the way. He’s as fast and powerful as any dog I’ve seen. Unfortunately, Jet took a straight line to the birds instead out the back opening of the blind-crashing through the front of my blind, collapsing half of it in the process. But he hit the water at full speed, swam out to where he marked the first duck, and like he’d done it his whole life, he turned and swam all the way back to the bank with a mallard drake in his mouth. He dropped it on the bank, smelled it for a second, then the second bird-injured but not completely dead-splashed the water back behind him. He spun and located it, hit the water again and swam all the way out to the other mallard. It dove on him, several times, trying to get away. Jet kept after it, locating and losing and relocating it over again-mind you, the dog has literally never even seen a duck nor smelled one at this point, nor of course chased an injured diver. He was back and forth, circling, chasing, until finally he caught it. Again, like he was a trained lab, he swam back to shore, dropped the duck on the bank, shook all the water off and started examining these weird swimming pheasants!! Needless to say, I was stunned. I was also elate-beyond excited and happy, and a proud father. Jet is quite simply, an absolute natural. A born hunter. And the best all around dog I’ve seen or heard of. Now I just have to teach him how to exit the duck blind properly…

I found Prince’s Quality Gun Dogs after doing some research. After talking to several breeders in Texas where I live and not being real excited about what I heard from them, I called John and immediately felt like I had found the right place to get my pup. Without prompting, John described the traits in his dogs that I had been looking for: trainable, great personalities, drive, versatile, natural abilities, etc. From the time I picked up Otto at 8 weeks he was pointing everything from houseflies to birds in the yard to his training bumper. I knew I had a winner when I took him out with a gun at 5 months. On his first quail he slammed to a statue-like point and held for me to flush the bird…his very first! Otto is a natural retriever. He loves the water and made 30-50 yard retrieves from a very young age. Hunting abilities aside, the other quality that makes John’s dogs great is that they are perfect companions. Otto is as great in the house as he promises to be in the field.

I came to pick him up this weekend after 8 weeks of training. (Otto is now 10 months.) Otto covered ground like a horse in full gallop but screeched to a halt as soon as he hit scent and held like a pro. John demonstrated that he could take the pigeon and put it in Otto’s face with the wings flapping, and Otto would hold. While quartering, John held his hand up without saying a word and Otto whoa’d to complete stop and waited for his next command. I’ve never seen a 10-month-old bird dog whoa and take the temptation of a bird its wings in his face. Very impressive.

I imagine that many would be reluctant to drive to SE Kansas to get a dog. However, the quality you’ll get from John’s dogs will make it worth the effort.

I purchased a female pup out of Prince’s Cody of Arms in 2013 sent her to John for training in June of 2014. John had her just over 3 wks and what I had expected had far exceeded my expectations. John called me up at 3 wks to say my dog was done and I wondered whether or not that would be the case when I watched her in the field. When he turned her loose. She looked an experienced dog. She would WHOA on command with a high tail and stand a bird that would walk or that John would literally drop or hold up to her face and not budge a bit. I cannot thank you enough for the quality of service you provided from start to finish in helping me select and train my GSP, Rooke. When I began searching for the right breeder for my GSP I called multiple breeders in the Kansas and Missouri area, and when I spoke with John on the phone he was more than willing to go into great detail not only answering my questions but providing his professional opinions about different options that I was undecided on. When going to see his dogs for the first time, John took the time to provide a demonstration of his finished dogs in addition to letting me look at all the puppies and see how they reacted around birds/wings for the first time.

Im just writing this testimonial to say how pleased I am with John with training my GSP (Remi). I did a lot of research and read many testimonies and finally decided to pick John to train my dog and let me say it was a great choice. After 3 weeks we had to drive down and drop off some food and let me say I was blown away on how fast and how much he had taught my dog in such a little time. She would find the birds point them and hold the point till he flushed it. He even taught her to retrieve out of water and load into the dog box. But to top that day off he even made us a HUGE breakfast when we got there. But what was even more great was that 2 weeks later he called me and told me my dog was done with training. I was shocked that he could train my dog in only 5 weeks! After 2 weeks of having her home I took her to a pheasant trial and I was VERY IMPRESSED on how great she performed in the field. We got our German Shorthair, Ava, from John Prince at Prince’s Quality Gun Dogs 2 years ago. She was born from Gypsy (Dane) and Codey (Stud). She has turned out to be an amazing addition to our family, and a great hunting companion for my husband. She has been to South Dakota to hunt wild birds, and this year she has been running field trials. Out of 4 field trials she has placed 1st, 1st, 1st, and 3rd. She has proven to be a great indoor dog where she sleeps in our bed at night, but loves the outdoors during the day. I sent John an undiscliplined year old GSP that tore up everything and would not mind at all. I almost think he switched dogs on me. When John finished training in 3 months I got back a completely different dog. My dog now minds and is very disliplined, he almost seems if he can read my mind and starts doing what I want before I give his command. I have not had the opportunity to use him for upland game yet but I took him dove hunting today on opening day and he did tremendous. He stays by my side until released then found every bird we shot. I just went to retrieve My 5 year old GSP male that I had sent to John Prince for some gun dog training. I have never owned a hunting dog with more natural ability…or a more stubborn attitude. The problem with our Buddy was not that He didn’t know what to do…He just wasn’t interested in waiting for us to do it. Within 15 minutes out in the field at Johns, He had him broke from chasing birds…to Oklamoma if left to his own devises! That dog learned to listen and stop, like…right now! My Father had already told John that He wouldn’t be able to control this head strong dog, and He just stood there with his jaw dropping to his knees and his head shaking as we watched John work His majic. He has decided that His own dog needs a little attention from John as well! We picked up our dog and we almost have to wonder how John managed to stuff a well-behaved dog into Our Buddy’s skin! He waited patiently untill asked to leave the crate, came when called, listened in the field, quartering on command beautifully. Found a bird for us, and retrieved to hand. Then waited for further instruction….The change is drastic. We had come to dread taking this dog on a hunt that involved other hunters for fear of ruining hunts for other folks. He used to listen for about the first two commands and then off he went to hunt for himself, even when a collar would nearly knock him to his knees. I am so anxious to take this dog on our next hunting trip and watch him in action. John is as down to earth as anyone could hope for. He wasn’t sure how much He could help this adult and set-in-his- ways dog and He didn’t hesitate to say so. But He also said that He believed He could help, and was willing to try. I just purchased a puppy out of Prince’s Snake Eyed Romeo. At 6 wks he is already carrying around a chukar which weighs as much as he does. I am looking forward to john helping me train him in the near future. This is my second testimonial for John. After having my female home for just a month or so, my wife inform’s me that she wants another GSP..Who am I to say no?.. TRAINING: I found John on the internet last yr and decided to have John train my dog after talking to him for a while. I decided that he was going to be the trainer for me. I took my 6 mo. old female GSP to him for training. When he got done with her she would point and hold birds to the flush, retreive to hand, handle, WHOA and HERE broke, he even taught her to load in the back of the truck and all of this was done in 4 wks time. Most kennels would have kept her much longer and charged alot more. But when he got her finished my cost was a total of $400. It was a little over a year ago when our 2nd shorthair passed away. After talking it over with my wife she let me go get another one. I definitely wanted a good hunting dog, but I wanted something a little different to compete with in field trials. The Kicker in our family is they have to have a good tempermant for the house. I contacted John and he had me convinced on the dog I needed. Long Story short he sold me a pick female (Dash). She is a daughter to Snake Eyed Romeo. Her natural ability is unbelievable! 2 yrs ago I contacted John about purchasing a male gsp after I had just lost another dog to old age. It has been over 2 yrs now since I purchased BILLY. He was my 8th gsp over a period of 35 yrs. He is the most stylish and probably the most gifted of all the dogs I have owned. He has been a rock solid pointer and I spent very little time with him training. He is natural at retrieving on land as well as in water. Without hesitation he will dive in the water like a lab and retrieve anything I ask him to. John is the most honest and best guy to buy bird dogs from. He also offer the best dogs around. we have now bought three dogs from John and are very pleased with all of them. You dont have to be rich to buy a dog hear either call him and he will find a dog to fit in your price range but he wont sell u a bad dog. he will be up front and honest about every dog he shows u and is more willing to tell u what the dog may struggle with then to try and hide it by talking up its other abilities. We came to Prince’s Quality Gun Dogs to purchase a w/l female GSP named Dolly. We had her for a total of 4 mo. before she accidentyly got hit by a vehicle. You could tell she had alot of pointing ability as she would always point our tame rabbit. We loved we dearly and it was the hardest thing that I have ever been through. I know that if she would have grown up she was going to be a really good hunting dog. I miss her dearly but had to have another pup from John to help fill the void. I have since purchased another female from John which I can also tell is going to be a great hunting dog as well as family companion. I cannot express enough how happy I am with my experience with Prince Quality Gun Dogs. A friend of mine had told me about him when I was looking for my first hunting dog. I called John and picked his brain. I told him what I was looking for, and he told me that he had a litter coming up and he would see if one of the pups would work for me. He called back and told me he had two he wanted me to look at. He sent photos, but better yet, we met and he showed me the pups. He promised me that the dog would exceed my expectations, or he would take it back and get me a dog that would. Long story short, I will NEVER give my dog back.
